Six Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh took oath as cabinet minister for the Delhi Assembly led by CM Rekha Gupta.
The new ministers took oath along with CM-designate Gupta in a grand ceremony at the historic Ramlila Ground which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the top BJP brass and NDA chief ministers.
A day after Rekha Gupta was named as the Chief Minister of Delhi by the BJP, the President approved that names of these six MLAs to be sworn in as ministers on the request of the CM designate.
"I am happy that I have been appointed to lead the team. It is a big responsibility and I am looking forward to this new role. We have a strong squad and it's a mix of experienced and young players," Salima was quoted as saying in a Hockey India press release.

— ANI (@ANI) February 20, 2025Ahead of the official announcement, speculations had surfaced on who might be the Delhi cabinet ministers along with analysis for their selection.
A report in Economic Times stated that the BJP may aim to balance caste representation in the cabinet by including names like Parvesh Vermawho happens to be a Jaat, Manjinder Sirsa, who follows Sikhism, Ashish Sood, a Punjabi and Dalit MLA Ravinder Indraj Singh.
They also added names of Pankaj Singh and Kapil Mishra who represent the Purvanchalis.

Parvesh Verma was one of the top contenders of the CM role as per speculations before Gupta's name was announced by the party. Verma contested from a crucial seat - New Delhi where he defeated former CM and Aam Aadmi Party Supremo Arvind Kejriwal.
Some reports also claimed that the party may appoint him as Deputy CM at the oath-taking ceremony today.
